Which Countries Are Eligible for the Saudi eVisa?

Saudi Arabia offers several ways for international travellers to enter the country, but the right option depends on your nationality, passport, residence status and travel purpose. The Saudi eVisa is the main online tourist visa route for eligible nationalities, while GCC residents, certain UK/US/Schengen visa holders and UK passport holders may have additional options. Below, we explain the eVisa, eligible countries, visa on arrival, ETA and alternatives if your nationality is not on the standard list.

The eVisa in One Paragraph

The Saudi tourist eVisa is a multiple-entry visa valid for one year, allowing stays of up to 90 days in Saudi Arabia. It can be used for tourism, events, visiting family and friends, leisure activities and Umrah outside the Hajj season. The visa fee and insurance charges apply according to the current Saudi visa system, so applicants should check the latest amount before submitting their application.

Eligible Countries by Region

Saudi Arabia's tourist eVisa is available to citizens of a range of countries across North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania. Your passport must meet the required validity conditions, and eligibility should be confirmed through the official Saudi visa system before applying.

North America — 7

Bahamas, Barbados, Canada, Grenada, Panama, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and the United States.

Europe — 41

Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

Also Eligible: Residents of GCC Countries

Travellers who are residents of GCC countries may also qualify for a Saudi tourist eVisa, even when their nationality is not included in the standard eligible-country list. This route covers eligible residents of the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, subject to current passport and residence-permit conditions.

Also Eligible: Holders of a Valid UK, US or Schengen Visa

Some travellers who are not eligible based solely on nationality may qualify if they hold a valid UK, US or Schengen visa. The visa must meet Saudi Arabia's current conditions, so applicants should verify their eligibility before relying on this route.

Visa on Arrival: Same List, Different Price

Eligible travellers may also be able to obtain a Saudi visa on arrival instead of applying online beforehand. The process and fee differ from the eVisa. Applying for an eVisa before travelling can be more convenient because your visa is arranged before departure.

UK Passports: The ETA Since July 2026

British passport holders have an additional option through the Saudi Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). The ETA is designed for eligible UK citizens travelling to Saudi Arabia and provides another route alongside the standard tourist eVisa.

Not on the List? Your Options

If your nationality is not on the standard eVisa list, you may still have other options. Depending on your circumstances, these can include a licensed Umrah operator, sponsored visit visa or GCC-resident route. Certain nationalities may also be subject to Saudi Arabia's specific single-entry visa rules, so eligibility should be checked based on your passport and purpose of travel.
